In recent weeks, many of us have watched hurricanes Harvey and Irma surging through Texas, Florida and the Caribbean, with concern for the safety of our loved ones in those areas. Many residents are displaced while their towns remain flooded and without power, uncertain of what comes next. A number of our own Grand Rounds colleagues in Texas and Florida have been impacted; thankfully they are all now back in their homes and looking forward to the reconstruction ahead.

While we can’t begin to fathom the work ahead in rebuilding lives, homes and communities, we at Grand Rounds want to ensure that those living in areas impacted by the hurricanes will not have to worry about their health care.

For the next thirty days, members and their extended families living in areas impacted by the recent hurricanes will have free access to Grand Rounds services. This includes expert guidance or assistance for any non-emergency health care need. Here are some specific ways we can help:

  • Providing medical guidance and support via a phone conversation with a clinician
  • Scheduling an appointment with a local physician
  • Helping to replace lost medical records
  • Facilitating an expert second opinion

How to reach Grand Rounds for help:
If you or a family member are located in areas impacted by the hurricanes and need health care support, please call the Grand Rounds Hurricane Support Line, 1-800-890-7869, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday until October 15, 2017. We encourage you to also share this information with your extended family.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma. We are here to support you and your loved ones in any way we can.
